1.1A Senate resolution

         		1.2congratulating Henry Sibley High School Students Against Destructive 

         		1.3Decisions on receiving a Promising Practices Award.

         		1.4WHEREAS, Henry Sibley High School Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) 

         		1.5is a student-led prevention program aimed at promoting positive youth development         and 

         		1.6empowering students to be involved in their school and community; and 

         		1.7WHEREAS, in the 2014-2015 school year, members of SADD confronted important issues 

         		1.8facing their community, including texting and driving, e-cigarettes, drug usage, and         relationship 

         		1.9violence, while developing leadership skills and demonstrating positive choices; and         

         		1.10WHEREAS, in recognition of their important work, the students of SADD have received a 

         		1.11Synergy and Leadership Exchange Promising Practices Award; and 

         		1.12WHEREAS, Promising Practices Awards recognize successful, unique ways of reinforcing 

         		1.13character traits in students that other schools may learn from or replicate; and 

         		1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota 

         		1.15that it commends the students of Henry Sibley High School SADD for their commitment         to 

         		1.16their community and their successful advocacy programs, and congratulates them on         receiving 

         		1.17this well-deserved award.

         		1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 

         		1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature         and that of the 

         		1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Ann L.         Lindberg,
