1.1A Senate resolution

         		1.2honoring Grace Garry for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award.

         		1.3WHEREAS, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, helping girls 

         		1.4to reach their full potential, develop positive values, and contribute to the improvement of society 

         		1.5through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others; and

         		1.6WHEREAS, to earn the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Gold 

         		1.7Award, a Girl Scout in high school must complete leadership journeys that help her discover her 

         		1.8interests, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place; and

         		1.9WHEREAS, Grace Garry is a serving and responsible member of the Girl Scouts and has 

         		1.10completed all requirements necessary to earn the Gold Award; and

         		1.11WHEREAS, for her service project, Grace restored and renovated the garden at St. Peter's 

         		1.12Church, after researching the garden's history, and organized a Sunday School art project to 

         		1.13celebrate the garden; and

         		1.14WHEREAS, she will receive the Gold Award at a Recognition Ceremony; and

         		1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 

         		1.16it congratulates Grace Garry on receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award, and extends best wishes 

         		1.17to her for the future.

         		1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 

         		1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature and that of the 

         		1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Grace Garry.
