1.1A Senate resolution

         		1.2honoring the Stillwater Area High School mock trial team on placing 

         		1.3second at the 2014-2015 State Mock Trial Tournament at the Hennepin 

         		1.4County Government Center.

         		1.5WHEREAS, mock trial competition lays a foundation for students interested in exploring 

         		1.6careers in the legal profession and fosters an informed understanding of both the         meaning of 

         		1.7justice and our society's path to it; and 

         		1.8WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 Stillwater Area High School mock trial team went undefeated 

         		1.9in the initial scheduled rounds to advance to the regional playoffs, then won the         regional playoffs 

         		1.10to advance to the state competition at the Hennepin County Government Center; and         

         		1.11WHEREAS, at the state tournament, Stillwater won their first three trials against Luverne,         

         		1.12St. Michael-Albertville, and Apple Valley to advance to the final against Nova Classical         Academy, 

         		1.13where they finished second in a split decision by the five-judge panel judging the         competition; and

         		1.14WHEREAS, only in its second year, Stillwater has established itself as one of the top 

         		1.15teams in Minnesota; and 

         		1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 

         		1.17it commends the students of the Stillwater Area High School mock trial team and wishes         them 

         		1.18success and insight as they continue their journey.

         		1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare 

         		1.20an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature         and that of 

         		1.21the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the         Stillwater
