1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Stillwater High School boys hockey team on winning the 2014 1.3State High School Class AA Section 4 boys hockey championship. 1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of 1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and 1.6WHEREAS, the Stillwater hockey team participated in the 2014 State High School Class 1.7AA Section 4 boys hockey tournament on February 22-28, 2014; and 1.8WHEREAS, after beating Tartan 6-3 in the quarterfinals and White Bear Lake 2-1 in 1.9overtime in the semifinals, they defeated the Hill-Murray Pioneers 2-1 in the final game of the 1.10tournament to win the section championship and go to the state tournament for the first time in 1.11their 59-year history; and 1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Stillwater High School boys hockey team for 1.14their sportsmanship and skill. 1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare 1.16an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of 1.17the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal 1.18of Stillwater High School.
