Present: Senator Jennifer A. McEwen - Chair, Senator Grant Hauschild - Vice Chair, Senator Gene Dornink - Ranking Minority Member, Senator Robert J. Senator Jennifer A. McEwen called the meeting to order at 12:46pm

Call to Order

Senator Hauschild assumed the gavel at 12:48pm

S.F. 2373: Senator McEwen: Omnibus Labor policy and appropriations.

The following individuals testified on S.F.2373: Michelle Maser, AFSCME Council 5 Lauryn Schothorst, Director, Workplace Management and Workforce Development Policy, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Dalton Danielson, Fiscal Policy Director, Minnesota Business Partnership Jon Boesche, State Director, National Federation of Independent Business Nicole Blissenbach, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Senator McEwen moved the adoption of the Author’s A-18 Amendment, The A-18 Amendment was ADOPTED unanimously by VOICE VOTE. Senator Rarick introduced the A-25 Amendment, Senator Rarick withdrew the A-25 Amendment. Senator McEwen introduced the A-19 Amendment, the A-19 Amendment was ADOPTED unanimously by VOICE VOTE. Senator Dornink introduced the A-22 Amendment, the A-22 Amendment was ADOPTED unanimously by VOICE VOTE. Senator Lieske requested a roll call vote for the passage of S.F. 2373, as amended, recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance 6/4 (Ayes: McEwen, Hauschild, Kupec, Marty, Oumou Verbeten, Pappas; Nays: Dornink, Lieske, Rarick, Wesenberg) MOTION PREVAILED

Senator McEwen moved that S.F. 2373, as amended, recommended to pass and re-referred to the Finance Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 3720: Senator McEwen: Building code administration modification.

Senator McEwen moves the adoption of the author’s A-3 Amendment, the A-3 Amendment is ADOPTED unanimously by VOICE VOTE. The following individuals testified on S.F.3720: Nicole Blissenbach, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry

Senator Hauschild moved that S.F. 3720, as amended, recommended to pass and re-referred to the Finance Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 4640: Senator Kupec: State employees and legislators prohibition from taking employment with or serve as an independent contractor for grant recipients in certain situations.

Senator Kupec requested a roll call vote for S.F. 4640, to be taken from the table and referred to the Committee on Elections without recommendation 10/0 (Ayes: McEwen, Hauschild, Dornink, Kupec, Lieske, Marty, Oumou Verbeten, Pappas, Rarick, Wesenberg; Nays) MOTION PREVAILED

Senator Kupec moved that S.F. 4640, be referred to the Elections Committee without recommendation. - MOTION PREVAILED.
