Chair D. Scott Dibble called the meeting to order at 3:17pm. After each agenda item and before any action was taken, time was allowed for committee discussion and potential amendments.

S.F. 3946: Senator Dibble: Criminal penalty provisions for assaulting transit workers clarification.

Chair Dibble gave the gavel to Vice Chair Ann M. Johnson Stewart for the duration of his bill presentation. Chair Dibble presented S.F. 3946 - Criminal penalty provisions for assaulting transit workers clarification. Testimony was heard from Lesley Kandaras, Metro Transit General Manager. Senator Hemmingsen-Jaeger requested a roll call. A roll call was approved. Chair Dibble moved that S.F. 3946 pass and be referred to the committee on Judiciary and Public Safety. Yes: Dibble, Johnson Stewart, Jasinski, Carlson, Coleman, Farnsworth, Hawj, Hemmingsen-Jaeger, Lang, McEwen, Nelson No: - With eleven votes in favor and zero against, the motion prevailed, and the bill was referred to Judiciary and Public Safety.

Senator Dibble moved that S.F. 3946, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Johnson Stewart moved to reconsider the vote and asked for a roll call vote. This was granted. Yes: Dibble, Johnson Stewart, Carlson, Farnsworth, Hawj, Hemmingsen-Jaeger, McEwen No: Jasinski, Coleman, Lang, Nelson With seven votes in favor and four against, the motion to reconsider prevailed. Vice Chair Johnson Stewart moved that S.F. 4377 pass without recommendation and asked for a roll call vote, which was granted.
