Present: Senator Steve A. Cwodzinski - Chair, Senator Erin K. Maye Quade - Vice Chair, Senator Julia E. Coleman - Ranking Minority Member, Senator Jim Abeler, Senator Liz Boldon, Senator Zach Duckworth, Senator Grant Hauschild, Senator Mary K. Kunesh, Senator Alice Mann, Senator Jeremy R. Miller

Absent: Senator Nathan Wesenberg

Senator Steve A. Cwodzinski called the meeting to order at 12:37 p.m. Chair changed to Maye Quade 12:39 p.m. Gavel returned to Senator Cwodzinski at 1:42 p.m.

Call to Order


S.F. 2067: Senator Cwodzinski: Administration of a nationally recognized college entrance exam authorization.

Testifiers: Laura Oksnevad, St. Anthony-New Brighton School Board Superintendent Dr. Josh Swanson, Eden Prairie Schools Sianna Obel, Student at Eden Prairie Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Melbye, Bloomington Schools Dr. Julio Caesar, Executive Director of Research, Evaluation & Assessment at Bloomington Schools Heather Starks, MN PTA and Bloomington School Board Jermey Willey, Director of State Partnerships at ACT Kevin McHenry, Director of Government Relations at the College Board Matt Shaver, Ed Allies Wilhelmina Sharmer and Aloysies Thompson, Students at Monticello Schools Senator Cwodzinski moved to adopt A1 amendment, voice vote, amendment adopted.

Senator Cwodzinski moved that S.F. 2067, as amended, recommended to pass and re-referred to the Education Finance Committee. - MOTION CARRIED.

S.F. 1899: Senator Kunesh: Commissioner of education direction to amend the state's accountability plan.

Testifiers: Dr. Eric Melbye, Ed.D. Superintendent at Bloomington Public Schools Dr. Julio Caesar, Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, and Assessment at Bloomington Public Schools Lara Bergman, Parent at Armatage Elementary School. Lay bill over for possible omnibus, voice vote, adopted.

Be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
