Senator Ann H. Rest called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.

Call to Order.

A quorum is present

Approval of the minutes from 2/6/25.

The minutes from February 6, 2025, were approved as corrected

S.F. 195: Senator Kunesh: Columbia Heights sales tax exemption for construction materials authorization.

Testifier: Aaron Chirpich – City Manager, Columbia Heights

S.F. 5: Senator Utke: Refundable exemption provision for certain construction materials purchased for Browerville Public Schools.

Testifier: Scott Vedbraaten – Superintendent, Browerville Public Schools

Senator Rest moved that S.F. 5, be laid over.

Department of Revenue review of the August 2024 Solid Waste Management Tax (SWMT) report.

Testifier: Steven Diaz - Director, Minnesota Department of Revenue Special Taxes Division

S.F. 1082: Senator Dibble: Dedication to the resource management account increase.

Testifiers: Michelle Rossman – Commissioner, Olmstead County Fran Miron – Commissioner, Washington County and Chair, Partnership on Waste and Energy

Senator Rest moved that S.F. 1082, be laid over.

S.F. 66: Senator Limmer: Maple Grove refundable exemption provision for construction materials.

Testifier: Mark Steffenson – Mayor, Maple Grove

Senator Rest moved that S.F. 66, be laid over.

S.F. 167: Senator Gruenhagen: Watertown sales tax exemption for construction materials authorization.

Testifier: Mike Walters – Mayor, Watertown

S.F. 837: Senator Dahms: Canby Independent School District construction materials refundable sales and use tax exemption authorization.

Testifiers: Chad Anderson – Superintendent, Tracy School District Ryan Nielsen – Superintendent, Canby School District

S.F. 972: Senator Farnsworth: Construction materials used in Itasca County refundable sales and use tax exemption authorization.

Senator Klein offered the A-1 Amendment. The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. Testifier: John Johnson - Commissioner, Itasca County
