Special Ed Presentation Special Ed Overview from Heidi Nistler, Assistant Superintendent of Specialized Services, St. Paul Public Schools.


S.F. 1842: Senator Boldon: Teacher licensure requirements modifications and professional development on dyslexia requirement provision.

Testifiers: Jasman Myers, Special Education Teacher, Decoding Dyslexia MN, Ash Cocchiarella, young adult with dyslexia, Jennifer Jackson, Parent, George Logan, MD, Int’l Dyslexia Association, Upper Midwest Branch

Senator Maye Quade moved that S.F. 1842, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State and Local Government Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 256: Senator Hoffman: Service animal support in school allowance.

Testifiers: Laura McMahon, Parent, Jessica Webster, Staff Attorney, Legal Aid, Katie Christensen, Parent and student (virtual), Jennifer Danielson, South St. Paul Public Schools, MN Administrators for Special Education (virtual) Senator Abeler moved the A-2 Amendment - adopted by voice.

S.F. 1667: Senator Hoffman: Developmental delay age limit working group establishment provision.

Senator Abeler moved that S.F. 1667, as amended, recommended to pass and re-referred to the State and Local Government Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.

S.F. 2078: Senator Farnsworth: Individualized education program requirements modification.
