Senator Erin P. Murphy called the meeting to order at 8:38 AM. Senator Murphy called a recess at 9:26 AM. The committee resumed at 9:30 AM.
S.F. 856: Senator Gustafson: Office of the Inspector General creation and appropriation.
Senator Frentz moved the A47 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Senator Johnson moved an oral amendment to the A48 amendment.
Page 1, line 5 after the period, insert the following sentence "Section 15.066 subdivision 3 does not apply."

Senator Pappas moved an oral amendment to the S.F. 0856.
Page 11, line 2 insert a new subdivision called "Chair", stating that "the commission must select a chair from among its members by January 31 of each odd-numbered year. The chair shall serve until a successor is elected. The chair must alternate biennially between the senate and the house of representatives."

Subcommittee Appointment Changes
Senator Frentz moved to remove Senator Champion as Chair of the Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct and appoint Senator Pappas as Chair of the Subcommittee on Ethical Conduct. MOTION PREVAILED.
S.F. 1464: Senator Pha: Minnesota Sustainable Foraging Task Force establishment.
Senator Pappas moved that S.F. 1464, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Environment, Climate, and Legacy Committee. - MOTION PREVAILED.
S.F. 2205: Senator Port: Task force on homeowners and commercial property insurance establishment.
