Present: Senator Jennifer A. McEwen - Chair, Senator Grant Hauschild - Vice Chair, Senator Gene Dornink, Senator Glenn H. Gruenhagen, Senator Robert J. Kupec, Senator John Marty, Senator Clare Oumou Verbeten, Senator Sandra L. Pappas, Senator Nathan Wesenberg

Senator Jennifer A. McEwen called the meeting to order at 9:34pm.

S.F. 3496: Senator Maye Quade: Compensation for minors appearing in internet content creation provision.

Senator Erin Maye Quade presented Senate File 3496.

 

Senator Maye Quade presented the A-12 amendment.


Discussion.


Senator Sandy Pappas moved the adoption of the A-12 amendment.

            The A-12 amendment was adopted along a voice vote.

 

Senator John Marty moved that SF 3496, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Senate Finance Committee.

            The motion was adopted along a voice vote.

 


Senator Marty moved that S.F. 3496, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee. - MOTION ADOPTED.

S.F. 5157: Senator Hauschild: Prevailing wage requirement for certain financial assistance.

Senator Grant Hauschild presented Senate File 5157.

 

The following individuals testified in favor of SF 5157:

            Jake Schwitzer, Executive Director, North Star Prosperity Action

            Kyle Makarious, Lobbyist, Minnesota Building & Construction Trades Council

 

Shane LaFave, Executive Vice-President, Roers Companies, testified virtually from Plymouth, Minnesota, in opposition to SF 5157.

SF 5157 was laid over.

S.F. 5257: Senator McEwen: Combative sports regulations modification.

Senator Jen McEwen presented Senate File 5257.

 

Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry Deputy Commissioner Kate Perushek testified in favor of SF 5257 and walked through the technical changes.

 

Discussion.

 

Senator McEwen moved SF 5257 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Senate Judiciary & Public Safety Committee.

            The motion was adopted along a voice vote.

S.F. 5266: Senator McEwen: Supplemental appropriations and other provisions modification related to the Bureau of Mediation Services.

Senator McEwen presented Senate File 5266.

 

Senator McEwen moved the A-1 authors amendment.

            The A-1 amendment was adopted along a voice vote.

 

Bureau of Mediation Services Commissioner Johnny Villarreal testified in favor of SF 5266 and walked through the technical changes.

 

Senator Hauschild moved that S.F. 5266, as amended, be laid over.. - MOTION ADOPTED.
