1.1A Senate resolution

1.2recognizing Thane Stejskal of Eagan High School for choosing to serve in the United
         

1.3States Marines Corps.

 1.4WHEREAS, those young people who elect to protect our nation's precious freedoms by 

1.5volunteering to serve in the armed forces of the United States perform a crucial service
         in the 

1.6defense of our country; and

 1.7WHEREAS, in 1973, the United States military eliminated the draft, creating today's 

1.8all-volunteer force; and

 1.9WHEREAS, upon graduation, Thane Stejskal of Eagan High School will be entering the 

1.10United States Marines Corps, a tremendous honor deserving of special legislative recognition;
         and

 1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 

1.12congratulates Thane Stejskal of Eagan High School on deciding to serve and protect
         our country 

1.13in the United States Marines Corps, and extends best wishes to Thane for the future.

1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 

1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature
         and that of the
