1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Cody Kottke of Eagan High School for choosing to serve in the
1.3United States Army.
1.4WHEREAS, those young people who elect to protect our nation's precious freedoms by
1.5volunteering to serve in the armed forces of the United States perform a crucial service in the
1.6defense of our country; and
1.7WHEREAS, in 1973, the United States military eliminated the draft, creating today's
1.8all-volunteer force; and
1.9WHEREAS, upon graduation, Cody Kottke of Eagan High School will be entering the United
1.10States Army, a tremendous honor deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.12congratulates Cody Kottke of Rosemount High School on deciding to serve and protect our country
1.13in the United States Army, and extends best wishes to Cody for the future.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.16Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Cody Kottke.
