1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Eagan High School graduate Noah Koch for entering the United
1.3States Navy.
1.4WHEREAS, young people who elect to protect our nation's precious freedoms by volunteering
1.5to serve in the armed forces of the United States perform a crucial service in the defense of our
1.6country; and
1.7WHEREAS, in 1973, the United States military eliminated the draft, creating today's
1.8all-volunteer force; and
1.9WHEREAS, upon graduation, Noah Koch will be entering the United States Navy and
1.10several of his fellow Eagan High School students will also be entering the armed services, a
1.11tremendous honor deserving of special legislative recognition; they will be honored on Thursday,
1.12May 24, 2018, with a ceremony at Eagan High School; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14congratulates Noah Koch and his fellow Eagan High School students entering the United States
1.15armed forces upon graduation for their decision to serve and protect our country, and extends best
1.16wishes to them for the future.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Noah Koch.
