1.1A Senate resolution

         		1.2honoring Steve Her.

         		1.3WHEREAS, Steve Her was born in Hoy Ma Village in the city of Sam Neua in Houaphanh 

         		1.4Province in the country of Laos to Chong Seng Her and Mor Vang; and

         		 1.5WHEREAS, Steve immigrated to the United States on September 17, 1987, with his wife 

         		1.6Tria Vang Her and their children and made Minnesota home; and

         		 1.7WHEREAS, he received his high school diploma in 1991 in St. Paul and went on to the 

         		1.8Alexandria Police Academy, where he completed his certificate in 1995; and

         		 1.9WHEREAS, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology 

         		1.10at St. Mary's University of Minnesota in Winona; and

         		 1.11WHEREAS, he has been serving the state of Minnesota as a police officer at the Inver Grove
         

         		1.12Heights Police Department for the past decade; and

         		 1.13WHEREAS, his involvement and leadership extends into the community through his position 

         		1.14as President of Hawj United of Minnesota, Inc. from 2014 to 2016, where he helped
         the organization 

         		1.15establish its name and current administrations; and

         		 1.16WHEREAS, his drive for mutual love, understanding, trust, and respect has made him a 

         		1.17respected leader in the community; and

         		 1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 

         		1.19celebrates Steve Her and his service, commitment, and leadership to the state of Minnesota.

         		1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 

         		1.21enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature
         and that of the
