1.1A Senate resolution

         		1.2honoring Tony Her.

         		1.3WHEREAS, Tony Her has been a resident of Minnesota for over 20 years, dedicating his 

         		1.4time and service to the community; and

         		 1.5WHEREAS, from 1999 to 2003, Tony served as the President for United Family; and

         		 1.6WHEREAS, from 2005 to 2010, he served on Hawj United of Minnesota as an 18 Clan 

         		1.7Representative and President; and

         		 1.8WHEREAS, from 2013 to 2016, he served on the Board of Directors of the Payne-Phalen 

         		1.9Community Council (District Five), whose mission is to improve the neighborhood by
         engaging, 

         		1.10educating, and empowering all residents in the diverse community; and

         		 1.11WHEREAS, in 2014, he served as a Parent Resident for Community School of Excellence, 

         		1.12a K-8 Hmong language and culture school, which led him to serve on the Board of Directors;
         and

         		 1.13WHEREAS, he has been the Vice President of Hmong United Martial Arts Society since 

         		1.142012, where he also serves as an instructor; and

         		 1.15WHEREAS, he currently serves his church, St. Paul Hmong Alliance Church, as Chair Mej 

         		1.16Koob and Usher Team Leader; and

         		 1.17WHEREAS, he currently serves as the President of United Family Organization; and

         		 1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 

         		1.19celebrates Tony Her and his lifelong commitment to service and leadership in the community
         and 

         		1.20the state of Minnesota.

         		1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 

         		1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's  signature
         and that of the
