1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Ecumen Bethany Community of Alexandria, Minnesota.
1.3WHEREAS, Ecumen Bethany Community, along with its employees, is a growing,
1.4successful nonprofit provider of senior housing and aging services with roots well-grounded
1.5in the Alexandria community; and
1.6WHEREAS, a history of growth and organizational development by the leadership of
1.7Ecumen Bethany Community, including growth in products and services, facilities, and number
1.8of team members, has resulted from the adoption and expansion of new technologies and services
1.9that benefit the citizens of Alexandria and the surrounding area and make the community more
1.10attractive; and
1.11WHEREAS, the employment of approximately 180 individuals throughout the area, with
1.12the payment of a living wage, creates a ripple effect of economic activity in terms of wages paid,
1.13support industries utilized, and employee purchasing power throughout the community, and plays
1.14a key role in the attractiveness and success of west central Minnesota; and
1.15WHEREAS, the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission and the Alexandria
1.16Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce are recognizing Ecumen Bethany Community for its
1.17significant investment and involvement in the Alexandria area in the creation of jobs, wages, and
1.18wealth and support of organizations and initiatives throughout west central Minnesota and to
1.19the entire state of Minnesota; and
1.20NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.21recognizes and congratulates Ecumen Bethany Community for its contributions to the people of
1.22the Alexandria area, the west central region, and the entire state of Minnesota.
2.1BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
2.2an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
2.3the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the leadership of
2.4Ecumen Bethany Community of Alexandria, Minnesota.
