1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the memory of Don McMillan.
1.3WHEREAS, Don McMillan dedicated his life as a volunteer to improving hunting,
1.4angling, and conservation for the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts; and
1.5WHEREAS, as President of the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance, Don McMillan
1.6worked to protect and promote the interests of hunters and anglers; and
1.7WHEREAS, Don McMillan was President of the Safari Club International, a worldwide
1.8hunting rights group, and helped form the organization's Government Affairs Committee; and
1.9WHEREAS, Don McMillan was a founder of SCI-PAC, Safari Club International's
1.10Political Action Committee; and
1.11WHEREAS, Don McMillan was the Minnesota representative to the National Assembly of
1.12Sportsmen's Caucuses, part of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus; and
1.13WHEREAS, Don McMillan served our country in the United States Air Force and Air
1.14Force Reserve; and
1.15WHEREAS, Don McMillan was a volunteer advocate for the Constitutional Right to Hunt
1.16and Fish, which was approved by Minnesota voters in 1998; and
1.17WHEREAS, Don McMillan was a volunteer advocate for the Legacy Amendment that
1.18was ratified by Minnesota voters in November of 2008; and
1.19WHEREAS, Don McMillan was a volunteer advocate for the Lessard-Sams Outdoor
1.20Heritage Council, which recommends nearly $100,000,000 per year in fish, game, and wildlife
1.21projects;
2.1NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
2.2it honors the memory of Don McMillan and his lifetime of contributions to conservation, and
2.3extends sincere condolences to his family and friends upon his passing.
2.4BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
2.5an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
2.6the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the family of
2.7Don McMillan.
