Author: Senator Mark W. Koran

Prepared By: Joan White, Senate Counsel (651/296-3814)

Date: March 9, 2020

S.F. No. 3789 amends Minnesota Statutes, chapter 462C, the municipal housing chapter, specifically the Housing Program and Developmental Financial Services section of law.

Section 1 (462C.14, subdivision 5) requires a city, which is broadly defined, to accept an application to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for a project as their application for local housing money for the same project.

Section 2 (462C.14, subdivision 6) prohibits a city from imposing a fine on a nonprofit that has received city money for low-income housing, if the nonprofit submits a late application.
