Section 1. Solar energy incentive program. Amends the statute governing Xcel’s “Solar Rewards” program by extending program funding, which is withheld by Xcel from transfer to the renewable development account, through 2023 as follows:

  • 2020 - $17 million
  • 2021 - $15 million
  • 2022 - $15 million
  • 2023 - $10 million

Then, in 2024, any unspent amount remaining from program years 2020 to 2023 are allocated to the program. Allows unspent amounts allocated during a specific program year to be available in the subsequent year. Requires any unspent amounts remaining on January 1, 2025, to be transferred to the renewable development account.
