SF 3936 moves responsibilities for the regulation of cosmetology from the board of cosmetologist examiners to the commissioner of health.

Section 1: defines “commissioner” as the commissioner of health for the cosmetology chapter.

Section 2:  conforming changes.

Section 3: conforming change (removing the Board of Cosmetology from a list of nonhealth-related licensing boards).

Section 4: specifies that a default statute for transferring duties, assets, liabilities, staff, and rules, applies for the transfer from the Board of Cosmetologist Examiners to the commissioner of health.

Section 5: requires the revisor to makes specified changes to reflect the transfer.

Section 6: repeals the definition of the “board” of cosmetologist examiners.
