S.F. No. 1873 requires students in foster care to be enrolled in school within seven days of placement.

Section 1 (120A.21) establishes the requirement for a student in foster care to be enrolled in school within seven days of placement, and clarifies that a student may remain enrolled in a previous district if the student moves to a foster home in a different district.

Section 2 (257.0725) requires the commissioner of human services to include school enrollments within seven days of placement in the annual report on child maltreatment and children in out-of-home placement.
