Prepared By: Joan White, Senate Counsel (651/296-3814)

Date: February 18, 2020

S.F. No. 3063 amends the Military Forces chapter of law, specifically the additional powers of the adjutant general, by expanding the military facilities that may be rented.  This bill allows the adjutant general to rent an armory, a building, or facility operated and maintained by the adjutant general.  New paragraph (b) allows the adjutant general to order to temporary state active service, with their consent, certain members of the military to ensure the safe operation and usage of the facility. The rate of pay must be in accordance with rates established by the adjutant general and must be included in the terms of the rental agreement.

This section is effective the day following final enactment.
