S.F. No. 695 authorizes the Department of Human Services (“DHS”) and the Metropolitan Council (“Council”) to share certain data on individuals that receive special transportation services (“Metro Mobility”) provided by the Metropolitan Council.

Section 1 amends a provision on welfare data in the Data Practices Act so that specified data on individuals may be disclosed between DHS and the Council to: (1) coordinate Metro Mobility services and services funded by DHS; and (2) provide for reimbursement of Metro Mobility.

Section 2 amends a provision on transportation data in the Data Practices Act so that private transportation service data may be disclosed between DHS and the Council for purpose of administering and coordinating human services programs and transportation services for disabled and elderly individuals.

Section 3 expands the Metro Mobility service area to any area that pays into the transit taxing district.  In effect, the service is expanded to include the cities of Lakeville, Ramsey, Maple Plain, Forest Lake, and Columbus.
