S.F. No. 1245 - Modifying Requirements for Payment of Claims (1st Engrossment)

Author: Senator Andrew Mathews

Prepared By: Priyanka Premo, Senate Counsel (651/296-3914)

Date: May 10, 2017

Section 1 amends the law that allows school districts to use electronic funds transfers to pay certain claims to also allow a county; local social services agency; town or home rule charter city of the second, third, or fourth class; or any park district to do so.

Anyone seeking a claim of payment no longer needs to sign a specific declaration form. Instead, by making a claim of payment, the person making it is declaring that it is just and correct and has not been paid.

Section 2 repeals a subdivision specifying the form of the declaration.
