This bill adds a subdivision to the section of statute on driver’s license examinations.

Paragraph (a) allows a person who fails a skills or road test to retake the test before the end of the mandated practice period, if the person is in active service in the United States armed forces and:

  • is stationed outside of Minnesota; or
  • is required to report to duty outside of Minnesota before the end of the practice period.

Paragraph (b) requires the license applicant to present acceptable documentation to the Department of Public Safety to qualify for the exemption in paragraph (a).
