S.F. No. 3041 - Statewide Retirement System Data (first engrossment)

Author: Senator Warren Limmer

Prepared By:

Date: March 29, 2016

Section 1 amends the provision under the personnel data statute limiting the disclosure of certain pension plan data of statewide retirement systems to include a cross-reference to the new disclosure requirements under section 2.

Section 2 requires statewide retirement systems to provide requesting political subdivisions with service credit data and retirement eligibility data.  The statewide retirement system may require the requesting political subdivision to pay the cost of supplying this data.  This would include data from a member’s previous employers that apply to their service credit and retirement eligibility.  The data may only be used for workforce planning purposes.  Only summary data on retirement eligibility dates by job classification may be shared within the political subdivision.
