SF 2341 updates references to osteopathic medicine’s medical licensing examination, Board of Examiners, and association.  SF 2341 also changes terms to osteopathic physicians and osteopathic medicine.

Section 1 (147.01, subd. 1) modifies the makeup of the Board of Medical Practice by requiring at least one member have a degree of doctor of medicine and at least one member have a degree of doctor of osteopathic medicine.

Section 2 (147.01, subd. 2) changes references from doctors of osteopathy to osteopathic physicians.

Section 3 (147.02, subd. 1) updates the name of the medical licensing examination, specifically adds references to the osteopathic medical licensing examination, and updates the reference to the American Osteopathic Association.

Section 4 (147.03, subd. 1) updates the names of the National Board of Osteopathic Examiners and the American Osteopathic Associations.

Section 5 (147.037, subd. 1) updates the name of the American Osteopathic Association.

Section 6 (147.091, subd. 1) changes the reference from doctor of osteopathy to doctor of osteopathic medicine.

Section 7 instructs the revisor to change throughout the statutes and rules “osteopath” to “osteopathic physician” and “osteopathy” to “osteopathic medicine.”
