S.F. No. 1473 - Data Practices Regarding Disability Certificate Holders

Author: Senator Jim Carlson

Prepared By: Krista Boyd, Senate Fiscal Analyst (651/296-7681)

Date: March 16, 2015

Current law classifies Department of Public Safety data related to a holder of a disability certificate as private data, except that nonmedical data may be released to law enforcement agencies.

This bill allows nonmedical private data on disability certificate holders to be released to employees or agents of cities and towns for the purposes of enforcement of disability parking laws.
