Section 1 [Silver Alert System Working Group].

Subdivision 1 [Working group established; study required; duties] establishes duties for a Silver Alert system working group to study and make recommendations as to whether the state needs a Silver Alert system to aid in the recovery of missing senior citizens with dementia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, or other mental disabilities.

Subdivision 2 [Membership] describes membership for the working group.

 Subdivision 3 [Administrative issues] requires the commissioner to convene the first meeting of the working group by August 15, 2015, and for the Department of Public Safety to provide meeting space and administrative support.  The working group will select a chair from its members.

Subdivision 4 [Report and draft legislation required] requires the working group to submit a report to the legislature by January 15, 2016, to summarize its activities and provide its recommendations, with draft legislation.

Subdivision 5 [Sunset] expires the working group after submitting its report or February 15, 2016, whichever is earlier.
