S.F. No. 1841 - Federal Conformity for the Working Family Credit

Author: Senator Ann H. Rest

Prepared By: Nora Pollock, Senate Counsel (651/297-8066)

Date: March 16, 2014

This bill increases the working family credit phase-out threshold for married-joint filers. The $5,000 increase, originally enacted in 2009, is indexed annually for inflation from 2009. For tax year 2014, the indexed increase is $5,430. For married-joint filers, the increased threshold would be the same as it is for the federal earned income credit under federal law enacted in January 2013.

Effective beginning in tax year 2014.
