S.F. No. 918 requires Minneapolis and Saint Paul to establish a joint governing structure to coordinate and provide for joint marketing, promotion, and scheduling of events at the Target Center and Xcel Energy Center.  The governing structure must be established by January 1, 2015.

By February 1, 2014, the cities must study and report to the legislature on the creation of the joint governing structure to provide for joint administration, financing, and operations of the facilities and the possible effects on the finances of each facility and each city.  The study must include look at specified issues.  The study must look at the feasibility of the facilities joining the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.

This bill is effective the day following local approval.
