Section 1, subdivision 1, defines forensic analysis and forensic laboratories for the purposes of the bill.
Subdivision 2 requires a forensic laboratory operating on or after January 1, 2014, to be accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board. Forensic labs must forward their certificate of accreditation to the Commissioner of Public Safety, who must post the accreditation documents on the department’s Web site.
