S.F. No. 675 - Strategic and Long-Range Planning Reporting Requirements Modification

Author: Senator Alice Johnson

Prepared By: Stephanie James, Senate Counsel (651/296-0103)

Date: February 27, 2013

Section 1 [Report] eliminates certain information from a reporting requirement.  Under current law, the Commissioner of Administration is required to submit a report to the Governor and chairs and ranking minority members of the Senate and House committees with jurisdiction on state government finance, that provides economic, social, and environmental demographic information to assist public and elected officials with long-term management decisions.  This section removes the requirement that this report include information to assist with the preparation of the milestones report.

Section 2 [Access to Data] eliminates a requirement that directories of government services and institutions, including an electronic version of the guidebook to state agency services that is published by the Commissioner of Administration, be provided free or for a nominal cost associated with reproduction.
