Section 1 [Minnesota Youth Council Committee].

Subdivision 1 [Recognition] recognizes the Minnesota Youth Council Committee, that is organized under the Minnesota Alliance With Youth, a private, nonprofit organization, as a liaison for youth from around the state to the legislature and the governor.

Subdivision 2 [Legislative liaisons] requires the legislature to appoint four legislators to serve as legislative liaisons to the Minnesota Youth Council Committee, with service alternating between the house and the senate and with representation from both the majority and minority parties.

Subdivision 3 [First appointments and terms] requires first appointments to be made by September 1, 2013.   Thereafter, appointments shall be made by January 15 of the first year of a biennium and shall be for two years.

Subdivision 4 [Staff] requires the legislature to designate an employee to staff the Minnesota Youth Council, serving up to ten hours per year.
