Section 1 (144.492) creates a new section of law defining terms applicable to Sections 2 and 3.

Section 2 (144.493) creates a new section of law establishing the criteria for “comprehensive stroke centers,” “primary stroke centers,” and “acute stroke ready hospitals.”

Section 3 (144.494) creates a new section of law restricting  the use of “stroke center” in a hospital’s name without Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH) designation, and establishing the process for MDH-designation for hospitals meeting the criteria established in Section 2.
