Author: Senator Kevin Dahle

Prepared By: Krista Boyd, Senate Fiscal Analyst (651/296-7681)

Date: February 18, 2013

Section 1 repeals a section of 2002 Laws that:

  • defines "Dan Patch commuter rail line" as the line between Northfield and Minneapolis that is referenced as "Dan Patch line" in the Metropolitan Council's 2020 plan;
  • prohibits MnDOT, the Metropolitan Council, and regional rail authorities from spending money for any phase of the Dan Patch project; and
  • requires MnDOT and the Metropolitan Council to remove existing references, except for historical purposes, to the Dan Patch line from various planning documents.

This section is effective immediately upon final enactment.
