S.F. No. 115 - Modifying Child Care Assistance Absent Days

Author: Senator Sandra L. Pappas

Prepared By: Joan White, Senate Counsel (651/296-3814)

Date: February 15, 2013

Senate File No. 115 modifies the child care assistance statute limiting the number of days a provider may be reimbursed when the child is absent from child care.  The bill increases from ten to 25 the number of days a provider may be reimbursed, or not more than ten consecutive days.  New paragraph (b) allows the number of absent days to exceed the limits under paragraph (a) for children with documented medical conditions that cause more frequent absences.
