S.F. No. 2369 (Committee Engrossment) makes all Three River Park District members elected.

Section 1 requires members of the Board of Park District Commissioners (“commissioners”) of the Three Rivers Park District to be elected.  Currently, some members are appointed while others are elected.

Section 2 provides for the election of the commissioners.  All seven commissioners are elected without party designation.  Elections are held at the same time and in the same manner as elections for county commissioners.  All commissioners are elected by district.  The commissioners must be a resident of the district that he or she represents.  Commissioners serve four-year, staggered terms.

Section 3 repeals the subdivisions relating to appointed and elected commissioners.

Section 4 provides that the bill is effective after local approval for the 2022 general elections and thereafter.
