S.F. No. 2123 - Child Care Support Provisions Modifications

Author: Senator Pam Wolf

Prepared By: Joan White, Senate Counsel (651/296-3814)

Date: March 14, 2012

Section 1 [518A.40, subdivision 4] Paragraph (a) requires the public authority to suspend collection of child care support when the obligee fails to provide verification within 30 days of the public authority’s request for information regarding child care costs.  The public authority will resume collection when either party provides information that child care costs are incurred.

Paragraph (b)  strikes language that requires the public authority to resume or continue the collection of child care expenses if the public authority is unable to verify with the obligee that no child care costs are being incurred.
