Under current law, the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs shall pay, within available funds and upon request by a local unit of certain veterans organizations, up to $50 to the local unit for providing an honor guard detail at the funeral of a veteran.  Under current law, the commissioner is permitted to give priority to local units that do not have charitable gambling operations. 

Section 1 [Honor Guards] strikes permission for the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs to give priority to local units that do not have charitable gambling operations when paying for honor guard detail for veterans' funerals.
