Section 1, subdivision 1 requires the Commissioner of Public Safety to convene a working group to study the need for a Silver Alert system to aid in the recovery of missing persons who are senior citizens with dementia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, or other disabilities.
Subdivision 2 provides for the membership of the working group.
Subdivision 3 requires the commissioner to convene the first meeting of the working group by September 15, 2015. The Department of Public Safety shall provide meeting space and administrative support for the working group.
Subdivision 4 requires the working group to submit a report to the Legislature by January 15, 2016. The report must summarize the group’s activities and include specific recommendations, cost estimates, funding sources, and draft legislation to implement the recommendations.
