Author: Senator Lyle Koenen

Prepared By: Stephanie James, Senate Counsel (651/296-0103)

Date: February 6, 2015

This bill limits the manner in which lottery tickets can be distributed.  Paragraph (a) suspends sale of tickets at gas pumps and automated teller machines.  Paragraph (b) suspends online sales of instant win lottery tickets, unless the tickets are part of a joint lottery or they are part of a game that relies on a drawing to determine a winner.  This bill also suspends contracts related to the prohibited sales.  The bill is effective 130 days after enactment.
