Section 1 provides that an application for a Minnesota identification card, an enhanced identification card, an instruction permit, a provisional license, a driver’s license, or for an enhanced driver’s license must contain a space where the applicant must attest to a residence address in Minnesota.
The section defines “government identification card” in paragraph (d) to include an official government identification used by a country other than the United States, that contains name, date of birth, identifying photograph, a unique identification number, and security features.
Section 2 repeals a part of Minnesota Rules that provides the means by which an applicant must provide proof of residency, lawful presence, and status check information.
This act is effective January 1, 2014.
