1.2Page 35, after line 21, insert:

1.3    "Sec. 7. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.01, is amended to read:
1.4256B.01 POLICY.
1.5(a) Medical assistance for needy persons whose resources are not adequate to meet the
1.6cost of such care is hereby declared to be a matter of state concern. To provide such care,
1.7a statewide program of medical assistance, with free choice of vendor, is hereby established.
1.8(b) It is the state's medical assistance policy to protect access to health care for the
1.9Affordable Care Act expansion population by ending duplicative bureaucratic requirements
1.10mandated by Public Law 199-21, section 71119, as soon as legally possible. The
1.11commissioner must follow section 256B.0562, subdivisions 5 and 6, to prevent increases
1.12in health care coverage loss and uncompensated care for providers."
1.13Renumber the sections in sequence
1.14Amend the title accordingly
