1.2Page 102, after line 6, insert:

1.3    "Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.084, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
1.4    Subd. 2. Prohibition. (a) A sitting member of the legislature is prohibited from accepting
1.5employment with or otherwise receiving compensation for services performed from:
1.6(1) a business whose primary source of revenue is derived from lobbying, government
1.7relations or government affairs services;
1.8(2) a business whose primary source of revenue is derived from facilitating government
1.9relations or government affairs services between two third parties; or
1.10(3) any other business that employs or contracts with lobbyists, government relations
1.11or government affairs professionals, if the member's job duties include acting in that capacity
1.12or providing direct or indirect consulting, advice, or administrative support for that work a
1.13business whose primary source of revenue is derived from facilitating government relations
1.14or government affairs services if the member's job duties include offering direct or indirect
1.15consulting or advice that helps the business provide government relations or government
1.16affairs services to clients.
1.17(b) This prohibition applies regardless of the location where the work of the business is
1.18substantially conducted or its clients are located.
1.19(c) The house of representatives and the senate must adopt rules to enforce this section."
