1.3 "Sec. 14.
[16A.092] DO NOT PAY DATABASE.
1.4 Subdivision 1. Do not pay database. The commissioner, with assistance from the
1.5commissioner of information technology services, must maintain a database of individuals
1.6or businesses who are prohibited from receiving state money. The commissioner must
add
1.7a person to the database when the person passes away, is convicted of or suspected
of fraud
1.8against the state, or owes money to the state.
1.9 Subd. 2. Contributions from all agencies. All state agencies must provide names and
1.10data to the commissioner for addition to the database when the agency determines that
a
1.11person has passed away, is convicted of or suspected of fraud against the state, or
owes
1.12money to the state.
1.13 Subd. 3. Confirmation of status before action. The commissioner must make the
1.14database available to agencies. Before entering a contract or making a payment, an
agency
1.15must check the name of a vendor or payment recipient against the database to ensure
the
1.16person or business is eligible to contract or receive a payment."
