1.4Page 32, after line 25, insert:
1.5 "Sec. 34. Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 204B.32, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.6to read:
1.7 Subd. 3. Contributions for election expenses prohibited. Notwithstanding any home
1.8rule charter or local ordinance to the contrary, a county, municipality, or school
district may
1.9not accept a contribution, in any form, from a for-profit business or a nonprofit
organization
1.10made for the purpose of paying expenses associated with conducting a federal, state,
or
1.11local election. This subdivision does not apply to an entity that provides space to
a local
1.12government to use as a polling place for free or at a discounted rate.
1.13EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment."
1.14Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.15Amend the title accordingly
