1.1Senator Hauschild moved to amend H.F. No. 3911, as amended pursuant to Rule 45,
1.2adopted by the Senate May 3, 2024, as follows:
1.3(The text of the amended House File is identical to S.F. No. 3887.)
1.4Page 27, after line 17, insert:

1.5    "Sec. 12. Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 97B.667, subdivision 3, is amended to read:
1.6    Subd. 3. Permits and notice; requirements. (a) Before killing or arranging to kill a
1.7beaver under this section, the road authority or government unit must contact a conservation
1.8officer for a special beaver permit if the beaver will be killed within two weeks before or
1.9after the trapping season for beaver, and the conservation officer must issue the permit for
1.10any beaver subject to this section. A permit is not required:
1.11(1) for a licensed trapper during the open trapping season for beaver; or
1.12(2) when the trapping season for beaver is closed and it is not within two weeks before
1.13or after the trapping season for beaver.
1.14(b) A road authority or government unit that kills or arranges to have killed a beaver
1.15under this section must notify a conservation officer or employee of the Fish and Wildlife
1.16Division within ten days after the animal is killed.
1.17(c) Unless otherwise directed by a conservation officer, the road authority, local
1.18government unit, the landowner, or their agent may dispose of or retain beaver killed under
1.19this section."
1.20Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.21Amend the title accordingly
