1.4Page 14, after line 21, insert:
1.5 "Sec. 19. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 462A.222, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.6to read:
1.7 Subd. 5. Limitation on rental increases. A housing project awarded tax credits under
1.8this section must not increase rent in any 12-month period by a percentage exceeding
the
1.9percent change in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers, as published by
the
1.10Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor, for the most recent 12-month
period.
1.11The limitation on rent increases in this subdivision applies only to an income restricted
unit
1.12rented by a resident 65 years of age or over.
1.13EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2026, and applies to rent
1.14increases that take effect on or after that date."
1.15Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.16Amend the title accordingly
